HVAC Technician I
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and moderately complex HVAC maintenance.
- Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions on mechanical systems.
- Assist in commissioning and balancing HVAC systems.
- Support PM schedules, documentation, and code compliance.
- Installs basic heating and air conditioning equipment and systems.
- Responds to service calls with appropriate efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to facility emergencies as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical plans, and control diagrams.
- Moderate troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication.
Typical Qualifications
- Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
- Must have good mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work alone.
- Must be able to work in crawl spaces and attics.
- Technical degree or trade school completion.
- HVAC certification(s) (e.g., EPA 608 minimum recommended).
- Ice machine training.
- Proficient with freon installation and removal. Brazing copper pipe. (strongly preferred).
- 2-5 years of relevant HVAC/mechanical experience.
- Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability.
