HVAC Technician

BreezeFix is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently in the field while representing our company professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
• Install HVAC equipment, ductwork, thermostats, and related mechanical components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective components, including motors, compressors, controls, valves, and electrical systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory documentation.
• Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly with customers and management.
• Safely operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Participate in on-call rotations and emergency service calls as required.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Required

• Minimum 2 years of HVAC service, installation, or maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record - DMV background check required.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must successfully pass drug screening/test.
• EPA Universal Certification.

Preferred

• OSHA 10 Safety Training.
• HVAC/R certifications or trade school training.
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of boilers, refrigeration systems, and controls.
• Welding, brazing, and sheet metal experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry equipment, tools, and parts up to 50–100 lbs regularly.
• Transport materials to and from job sites.
• Climb ladders, scaffolding, and work on rooftops or in tight attic spaces.
• Maintain balance while working in elevated or uneven areas.
• Work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and under structures.
• Perform tasks from low or awkward positions.
• Stand or walk for extended periods (sometimes up to 8–10 hours/day).
• Move between job locations or around large commercial/industrial sites.
• Use hand tools and power tools with precision.
• Perform fine motor tasks such as wiring, brazing, or handling refrigerant lines.
• Repeatedly use hands, wrists, and fingers to operate tools or install components.
• Distinguish colors for wiring.
• Hear system noises or alarms indicating malfunctions.
• Work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Tolerate exposure to dust, insulation, fumes, and moderate noise levels.
• Operate company vehicles to travel to job sites (if applicable).
