Position Summary: SOVA Waste and Recycling is seeking skilled and dependable HVAC/Maintenance Technicians to support the maintenance and repair of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure at our Henry County and South Boston locations. This role combines HVAC technical expertise with general maintenance responsibilities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The HVAC/Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are operating efficiently while also performing general repairs and preventative maintenance to support daily operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, functional, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and components
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical abdominal electrical issues
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings, machinery, and yard infrastructure
Assist with mechanical repairs and basic fabrication as needed
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company policies
Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
Respond to service calls and urgent repair needs
Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of HVAC experience (industrial or commercial preferred)
EPA Certification required
General maintenance or mechanical experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and repair techniques
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, industrial environment
Valid driver's license
