In this role, you'll maintain and repair critical HVAC and mechanical systems that support patient care while ensuring our facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with life safety standards.

    What You'll Do

    • Perform advanced HVAC maintenance, repairs, and installations on commercial building systems.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chillers, boilers, cooling towers, chilled water systems, steam systems, air handling units, and air distribution systems.
    • Operate and maintain DDC controls and building automation systems.
    • Inspect, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment issues using specialized testing equipment.
    • Evaluate HVAC system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical service manuals.
    • Apply life safety, mechanical, and building codes in all work performed.
    • Maintain a safe work environment while responding to facility needs that may include working at heights, in confined spaces, and during emergency situations.

    What We're Looking For

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • One year of vocational or technical training in HVAC operation and repair, required. (Four years of related HVAC experience may be considered in lieu of technical training.)

    Experience

    • Minimum of three (3) years of commercial HVAC installation and maintenance experience required. An equivalent combination of technical training and related experience will be considered.
    • Healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.

    Licensure

    • Valid North Carolina Driver's License (NCDL), required.

    Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of life safety, mechanical, and building codes.
    • Experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, steam systems, air handling units, and air distribution systems.
    • Knowledge of DDC controls and electronic building automation systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
    • Ability to evaluate HVAC system performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical service manuals.
    • Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, working at heights or in confined spaces, kneeling, and responding to emergency situations.
    • Ability to work extended shifts as needed and assist with emergency response activities, including fire response and evacuation.
    • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems preferred.
    • Proficiency with personal computers and standard PC software preferred.
