HVAC Technician – Residential & Commercial

Staffworks Group is seeking an experienced and reliable HVAC Laborer to join our growing team in Syracuse, NY. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for both residential and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

• Applies insulation to pipes, ducts, and equipment to regulate temperature, reduce noise, and protect equipment from damage.
• Measure, cut, and install various insulation materials like Fiberglass, Polyisocyanurate, or Styrofoam, while following the company's safety procedures.
• Install, service, and repair residential & commercial HVAC systems (furnaces, boilers, AC units, rooftop units, ductless systems, etc.)
• Diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions
• Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
• Install and troubleshoot thermostats, controls, and related components
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Communicate with customers to explain work performed and answer questions
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work completed
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed

Qualifications

• Some HVAC experience (residential and/or commercial) preferred
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Experience with RTUs, chillers, boilers, mini-splits
• Sheet metal fabrication
• Electrical troubleshooting
• NATE certification
• Plumbing or refrigeration background
