Responsibilities Complete Building Services-a Donohoe Company, is hiring HVAC Technicians in support of a large campus in Washington, DC. Our HVAC Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across campus facilities. This role supports a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment through skilled mechanical, electrical, and control systems work. The HVAC technician plays a key role in ensuring the physical integrity of building systems and responding to maintenance issues as needed.

Schedule and Salary Shift: First Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Days: Monday - Sunday Shift: Second Shift Hours: 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM Days: Weekends Salary: $35.69-$43.26 per hour.

Job Duties Oversee Install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems, including: • Condensers • Compressors • Evaporators • Motors • Chillers • Cooling towers • Heat pumps • Air handlers • Fans • Dampers • Duct systems • DX units • Filters • Valves • Gear boxes • and associated piping

Rebuild and repair both commercial and domestic refrigeration systems Perform preventative maintenance and minor fabrication work as needed Assign • Calibrate • Adjust • Repair • and operate pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls • Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic control systems • Coordinate with the building management systems (BMS) team to facilitate adjustments to system parameters including set points, schedules, and controller updates • Install or replace control boards and wiring related to HVAC operations • Ensure adherence to EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling, reclaiming, and disposal • Follow all safety protocols when working with high-voltage systems or hazardous chemicals • Maintain service logs and documentation in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance calls affecting HVAC or cooling systems • Provide support for after-hours issues as part of a rotating on-call team when needed

Qualifications Must be able to pass a background check to obtain site badge Experience with BMS systems and HVAC energy optimization strategies Ten (10) years experience working on commercial HVAC systems HVAC journeyman license preferred Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, preferred Knowledge of local and federal HVAC regulations Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS) Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, energy management systems, and refrigeration equipment Facilities Maintenance, or related field preferred Ability to complete maintenance and basic troubleshooting EPA/CFC Refrigerant Handling Certification required Completed coursework in HVAC areas Must have working knowledge of 480V and below electrical systems, HVAC and plumbing systems Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment Valid drivers licens EOE, including disability/veterans
