HVAC Service Technician
Pay: $35.00-$45.00/hour (depending on experience), with highly qualified candidates considered into the mid-$50/hour range.
Shift: 1st Shift with a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one week every 10 weeks).
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and boiler systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working independently, providing exceptional customer service, and solving complex mechanical and electrical issues in the field.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC equipment and systems.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues.
Perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend appropriate repairs.
Complete emergency service calls promptly and efficiently.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Maintain accurate service records and daily work documentation.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status and repair recommendations.
Provide technical guidance and support when needed.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency service.
Qualifications
5-10 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
Current Connecticut S-2 or D-2 HVAC license required.
Strong experience with commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
Working knowledge of commercial boiler systems.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Comfortable operating a company service vehicle.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening, including THC testing.
Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
