About the Role:
Tom Schaefer Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our team in Willoughby, OH. This position is intended for a seasoned professional who can independently diagnose, repair, and install HVAC systems while representing the company at the highest technical and customer-service level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair residential & light commercial HVAC systems
- Install furnaces, AC units, heat pumps, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and airflow issues
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system conditions, options, and recommendations
- Complete work orders, invoices, and documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
- Follow all safety standards, company procedures, and local/state codes
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of HVAC experienced required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- EPA Certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, professionalism, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both residential and commercial systems
- Leadership, mentoring, or lead technician experience
- Familiarity with flat-rate pricing models and service management software
