Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for two (2) Permanent Full-time positions of HVAC Technician in the Transit Fleet division of Halifax Transit.

Under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor, Halifax Transit, the HVAC Technician will be accountable to perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of transit vehicles including, but not limited to, heating and air conditioning on Halifax Transit's fleet of over 400 buses.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HVAC Technician will perform scheduled and non-scheduled repairs on the fleet of buses to manufacturers and regulatory standards (Motor Carrier Act, UARB). Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

HOURS OF WORK:
Position 1 - RLTC: 78640721: 7:00am - 3:30pm; Sunday - Thursday.
Position 2- BTC: 78640722: 7:00am - 3:30pm; Sunday - Thursday.
SALARY: $40.24 per hour (plus shift premium) as per the Collective Agreement between the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 508 and Halifax Regional Municipality. Shift premium of $2.00 per hour for shifts after 3:30pm.
