What You'll Do
- Perform advanced maintenance and repair of HVAC, mechanical, and utility systems
- Maintain and extend the life of facility assets including structures, equipment, and grounds
- Work on air handlers, compressors, pumps, chillers, boilers, steam systems, and cooling towers
- Operate and maintain chilled water systems and air distribution systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic system issues using testing equipment
- Analyze HVAC system performance and recommend efficiency improvements
- Work with DDC controls and building automation systems
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Apply knowledge of life safety, mechanical, and building codes
- Utilize basic computer systems and software for diagnostics and reporting
- Support minor electrical and electronic system work as needed
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation and maintenance, required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Two years of vocational training in HVAC operation and repair
Licenses/Certifications
- EPA 608 Universal (CFC) Certification, required
- HVAC license in state of employment, preferred
Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems including air handlers, boilers, steam systems, chillers, and cooling towers
- Experience with chilled water systems and air distribution systems
- Proficiency with DDC controls and building automation systems
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Understanding of life safety and building codes
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to hear and interpret changes in equipment operation
Preferred
- Experience in a healthcare environment
