Duties and Responsibilities

This HVAC Technician position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and residential climate control, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. Technicians must navigate NYC's strict building and environmental codes to ensure optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency across dense urban areas

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Respond to customer service requests related to mechanical issues with HVAC equipment, and work alongside and assist other employees in completing assigned work orders
  • Performs routine maintenance on HVAC systems including circuits, compressors, refrigerant lines and more to ensure they operate properly
  • Inspects and troubleshoots problems with existing HVAC units
  • Install replacement parts on existing HVAC units
  • Hands-on experience and working knowledge in troubleshooting HVAC systems, split, and packaged units
  • Report to work as scheduled with minimal absenteeism or tardiness
  • Work safely and use safety equipment; be familiar with and adhere to EPA and OSHA policies
  • Ensure that Company and Government safety, policy and regulatory standards are met while maintaining zero preventable incidents
  • Provide services and interact with customers to ensure that we provide all our customers with the best possible satisfaction
  • Attend and complete relevant on-the-job training as required

Job requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of door-to-door sales experience, with solar experience a plus
  • Experience in a similar position
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Clean Driver's License
  • VRF/VRV and controls experience preferred
  • EPA 608 Universal Certificate
  • OSHA 30 or SST
  • F60 Fire Guard Torch Operations
  • G60 Torch Use of Flammable Gases
  • R-32/A2L Certification
  • Flexible work schedule, including 6 or 7 days a week, or extended hours, as necessary
  • Geographical knowledge of NYC service area and map reading skills
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude
  • MUST be a team player

  • Sit, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and squat for prolonged periods of time and/or repeatedly over a required period
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to climb 36-to-72-inch ladder or scaffold
  • Constantly work in severe outdoor weather conditions, with exposure to oil and/or fumes and the elements
  • Reach with and work with hands and arms overhead
  • Identify and avoid Hazardous waste including Asbestos hazards
  • Ability to work while wearing a face mask, safety goggles and any other required PPE
