JOB SUMMARY:
The Health and Wellness Center Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the adherence of the health and wellness center's operations to all relevant regulations and policies. This position involves overseeing compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare laws, as well as internal policies. The coordinator collaborates with various departments to implement and maintain compliance programs, conducts audits, and develops corrective action plans when necessary. Additionally, they play a crucial role in staff training and education on compliance matters and work towards promoting a safe and ethical healthcare environment.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Monitor and assess the Health and Wellness Center's practices to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance issues.
- Collaborate with department heads to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Provide compliance training to staff and facilitate ongoing education.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and adjust policies accordingly.
- Investigate and report any compliance violations or breaches.
- Maintain compliance documentation and records.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from regulatory agencies.
- Support a culture of ethical conduct and compliance awareness within the organization.
- Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION:
Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in healthcare compliance or a related role.
- A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Health and Wellness Center Compliance Coordinator primarily works in an office setting and may require sitting for extended periods, using a computer, and performing occasional light lifting or carrying of documents. They may also need to travel within the community for meetings and compliance assessments.
