Hwy 93 Watercraft Inspection

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for benefited, temporary Watercraft Station Inspectors located in the Twin Falls, Highway 93 area.

Summary:

This job is part of the agencys statewide invasive species prevention program. This position will serve as a member of a watercraft inspection team stationed at the inspection station 3 miles north of Jackpot, NV and will report to Twin Falls. This position will drive a state vehicle stationed at the Twin Falls office to the Hwy 93 station.

Job Responsibilities:

These positions inspect watercraft to prevent the spread of zebra/quagga mussels and other Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) from infested states. The position will use an established protocol to inspect watercraft and conduct hotwashes on high-risk conveyances; conduct quality control activities at watercraft inspection stations; setting up and taking down portable traffic signs on daily basis; and properly entering detailed watercraft data on an electronic inspection form.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful applicant must be able to fulfill the following duties:

• Good communication skills
• Ability to pay attention to detail when conducting watercraft inspections
• Work in various types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to bend and crawl underneath watercraft, when necessary and with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and long hours
• May have to use your own reliable transportation to go between job sites
• Valid drivers license

Desired Qualifications

• Aquatic biology, ecology or field inspection experience
• Experience with pressure washers
