The Opportunity:

The Hybrid Architecture and Development for Experimental Systems (HADES) contract provides prototype and operational satellite ground systems, satellite operations centers (SOCs), and support services. The contract performs satellite ground system and satellite operations center engineering, development, integration, and sustainment, and associated support services primarily at, but not limited to, the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Support Complex (RSC) at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

  • The Cybersecurity Lead provides full spectrum cybersecurity leadership across all HADES mission areas, including Ground Control, Ground Support, Jaguar, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • This role ensures cybersecurity engineering, compliance, and defensive cyber operations are integrated across all RSC based system components.
  • The position leads implementation of RMF, Zero Trust, accreditation, continuous monitoring, and cyber readiness activities to support mission assurance.
  • The Cybersecurity Lead collaborates with engineering, software, sustainment, and operations teams to ensure secure design, operation, and modernization of ground architectures.
  • The individual serves as the government’s principal cybersecurity interface, ensuring compliance with DoD policy and supporting accreditation authorities. 




Responsibilities:

  • Lead all cybersecurity engineering activities supporting HADES ground systems, hybrid cloud environments, and multi classification networks.
  • Implement RMF across all system components, oversee A&A packages, manage POA&Ms, and ensure cybersecurity documentation accuracy.
  • Oversee continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, scanning, patching workflows, and cybersecurity automation.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity integration across software sustainment, hardware engineering, operations teams, and cross domain components.
  • Support Zero Trust adoption, boundary defense, identity/access management, cloud security compliance, and hybrid cloud protection measures.
  • Direct defensive cyber operations activities including risk and vulnerability assessments, incident response inputs, and protective posture enhancements.
  • Collaborate with ISSEs and government cybersecurity authorities to ensure system compliance and ATO sustainment.
  • Maintain cyber readiness for mission operations, modernization efforts, and integration of new capabilities. 




Qualifications:

Required: 

  • TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph eligibility.
  • Seven or more years of cybersecurity engineering experience supporting DoD ground systems, C2 systems, cloud environments, or mission systems.
  • In depth knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policy, boundary defense, hybrid cloud security, and multi classification system operations.
  • Hands on experience implementing RMF, conducting A&A, managing POA&Ms, and performing continuous monitoring.
  • Experience integrating cybersecurity engineering into DevSecOps, sustainment engineering, and modernization pipelines.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead cybersecurity activities across software, hardware, operations, and sustainment teams.
  • DoD 8570/8140 certifications including Security+ CE. 





Desired:

  • Advanced cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Experience with Zero Trust architecture, SIEM tools, cybersecurity automation, and cloud security models.
  • Experience supporting cross domain solutions, identity and access management, and cyber incident response activities.
  • Strong ability to develop cybersecurity documentation, security architecture, and risk analysis supporting accreditation activities.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,800 - $180,200
