Under general supervision, the Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Eliciting Requirements
Documenting user requirements, conditions, functionality, products, or services for internal or external use.
Gains and demonstrates business understanding prior to proposing a written solution.
Business Requirements Documentation
Assists Business Analyst's with organization and documentation.
Structured Analysis
Assists in creating "as-is-state models from text to document, validate, communicate, and organize requirements into coherent ideas.
Utilizes business models, process models, data models, and workflow models.
Object-Oriented Analysis
Assists in functional decomposition of the as-is state of a project, forming a simple model of this state.
Testing
Assists with testing as needed.
End-User Support
Works with end-user's post deployment to clarify high-level questions.
IT Fluency
Understands which resources are appropriate to help define and validate requirements and specifications within a given project and product scope.
Clear understanding of IT products and tools necessary for the business to function.
Business Process Re-engineering
Utilizes modeling techniques to Identify possible opportunities and areas of improvement.
Experience:
Experience in IT business and systems analysis
Experience in requirements gathering, business requirements documentation, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and support
Knowledge of business/systems analysis in software/application development projects
Comfortable working in a customer-facing role and interacting with end users
Ability to analyze information and translate business needs into clear business requirements
Functional knowledge of software development tools such as C#, .NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, XML, etc. helpful
Knowledge of data analysis and data analytics tools helpful
Ability to manage and respond to tickets received through the Zendesk (Help Desk) and assist end users with their needs
Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak confidently in front of groups
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
