Structural Steel Estimator (Hybrid)
Southern Maryland

A premier structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join their growing team in ahighly visible and impactful role. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who enjoys estimating complex projects while maintaining flexibility through a hybrid work schedule with in-office collaboration every other week in Southern Maryland.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, scope documents, and bid requirements
  
• Lead and coordinate estimating efforts to develop accurate, competitive proposals
  
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
  
• Evaluate project logistics, scheduling impacts, and execution considerations
  
• Assess project risk and identify cost drivers during preconstruction
  
• Review vendor and subcontractor quotations and develop final bid strategies
  
• Prepare estimates across multiple stages of design (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, and final pricing)
  
• Participate in preconstruction planning and meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
  
• Act as a key point of communication between internal teams and external partners
  
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practices
  

Qualifications

• Experience estimating structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals projects
  
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
  
• Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology platforms
  
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  
• Working knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, and engineering fundamentals
