Structural Steel Estimator (Hybrid)

A premier structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join their growing team in a highly visible and impactful role. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who enjoys estimating complex projects while maintaining flexibility through a hybrid work schedule with in-office collaboration every other week in Southern Maryland.

Review and analyze project plans, specifications, scope documents, and bid requirements
Lead and coordinate estimating efforts to develop accurate, competitive proposals
Prepare quantity takeoffs and develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Evaluate project logistics, scheduling impacts, and execution considerations
Assess project risk and identify cost drivers during preconstruction
Review vendor and subcontractor quotations and develop final bid strategies
Prepare estimates across multiple stages of design (conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, and final pricing)
Participate in preconstruction planning and meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
Act as a key point of communication between internal teams and external partners
Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practices
Experience estimating structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals projects
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
Proficiency with estimating software and construction technology platforms
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, and engineering fundamentals
Hybrid schedule – work remotely with required office collaboration every other week in Southern Maryland
