Position Title: Hydraulic Mechanic
Location: Central Point, OR 97504
Duration: 6-month contract (Contract to Hire)
Pay: $25/hr.
Schedule: 7 am - 4 PM, 40 hours weekly, Full-time
Overview: Seeking a Hydraulic Mechanic who is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, and testing hydraulic systems and components to support safe and reliable equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect hydraulic systems, components, hoses, fittings, pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves to identify wear, leaks, and failure points.
Diagnose hydraulic malfunctions using hand tools, pressure gauges, flow meters, diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical drawings.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble hydraulic components according to manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.
Test completed repairs and systems to verify performance, pressure integrity, and operational safety.
Install or upgrade hydraulic parts and assemblies as needed.
Document inspections, repairs, testing results, parts used, and maintenance actions in service records or work orders.
Work safely with high-pressure systems while following lockout/tagout procedures, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.
Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, operators, and other team members to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment reliability.
Maintain an organized work area and manage tools, parts, and equipment used for hydraulic service.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in hydraulics, mechanical systems, or industrial technology preferred.
2–5 years of experience in hydraulic maintenance, repair, assembly, or troubleshooting preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of hydraulic systems and fluid power principles.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic diagnostic/testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Hydraulic pump, motor, cylinder, hose, or valve repair experience.
Industrial, manufacturing, fleet, construction, or equipment maintenance background.
Welding, fabrication, or electrical troubleshooting experience may be helpful for related repair work.
