Fair Hill Precision is a full-service hydraulic and CNC machine shop committed to keeping machinery and production lines running smoothly. Since 1982, we've combined precision machining with expert hydraulic service to serve customers throughout Harrisonburg and Central Virginia. Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in a brief morning huddle to review the previous day's highlights and challenges
- Log in to view daily job assignments
- Follow the teardown checklist to assess the cylinder condition
- Communicate with customers to approve any additional repair needs
- Rebuild cylinders according to quality standards
- Notify customers upon completion, generate invoices, and place finished cylinders on the rack
- Clean tools and work area at the end of each job
- Maintain quality control throughout each stage of the process
- Monitor & maintain parts inventory related to assigned repairs
Who We're Looking For:
- Experienced: 2+ years of mechanical experience preferred. Hydraulic knowledge is a plus. Product and parts knowledge are helpful. On-the-job training provided.
- Integrity & Attitude: Honest, friendly, and respectful, with a clean sense of humor and a positive presence in the shop.
- Open to Growth: Willing to receive feedback, approach mistakes as learning opportunities, and focus on solutions rather than blame.
- Customer-oriented: Committed to hearing the customer's perspective and working toward timely, respectful resolutions.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Skilled at assessing parts, following checklists, rebuilding components, and maintaining quality throughout. Bringing personal tools is preferred, but company tools are available.
- Safety Awareness: Recognizes and avoids potential hazards. Safety is a priority because everyone has someone who cares about them.
- Team Fit: Thrives in a Christian work environment that values humility, collaboration, and personal responsibility.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency.
- Active: Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and remain on feet throughout the workday.
