Shift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday (overtime as needed)
Pay: $26-$28/hour, based on experience
Requirements for the Hydraulic TechnicianPenmac Staffing is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician for a full-time opportunity in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience repairing hydraulic cylinders and diagnosing equipment failures in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment. Qualified candidates should have:
- Experience repairing hydraulic cylinders in industrial or heavy equipment settings
- Knowledge of cylinder components, seals, wear bands, bushings, and common failure modes
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
- Ability to safely disassemble and reassemble large hydraulic components
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and repair documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
Preferred qualifications:
- Steel mill, heavy manufacturing, or mobile equipment experience
- Experience with large-bore hydraulic cylinders
- Hydraulic system troubleshooting experience involving pumps, valves, hoses, and power units
- Pressure testing experience
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- Welding or machining experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
Hydraulic Technician ResponsibilitiesThis is a hands-on diagnostic role focused on identifying the root cause of hydraulic failures and completing quality repairs. Responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and reassembling hydraulic cylinders
- Identifying failure causes such as seal damage, rod scoring, contamination, misalignment, and component wear
- Measuring and inspecting rods, barrels, pistons, glands, seals, and related components
- Determining repair requirements including machining, welding, honing, and seal replacement
- Installing seals, wear bands, wipers, and other cylinder components
- Assisting with pressure testing, leak checks, and final inspections
- Documenting repair findings, measurements, and recommendations
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Working closely with machinists, welders, quality control personnel, and operations teams
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment around heavy equipment
