Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Hydrovac Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that excavation tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment as needed.
- Conduct excavation tasks by using high-pressure water to dig and vacuum soil while ensuring the integrity of underground utilities.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to coordinate excavation projects effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Drive commercial vehicles as required to transport equipment and materials to job sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydrovac trucks.
- Familiarity with Vac Truck operation & maintenance is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is required.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments typical of construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices while performing excavation tasks.
- Previous experience in construction or utility work is an asset but not mandatory.
