    Position: Dental Hygienist

    Salary: $58-65 per hour and above, based on experience and qualifications.

    Location: KK Dental - North Brunswick, NJ (with potential assignments at Somerset and Edison locations)

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our patient care team, providing essential preventive and therapeutic dental services, delivering personalized oral hygiene education, and collaborating with our dentists and specialists to support comprehensive treatment plans. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting oral health and contributing to a positive patient experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Patient Assessment and Screening:

      • Conduct thorough patient screenings, including a review of oral health history, medical history, and vital signs.

      • Perform comprehensive periodontal assessments, including charting, probing depths, and evaluating recession.

      • Identify patient risk factors and develop individualized treatment plans.

    • Dental Hygiene Procedures:

      • Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures to remove plaque, calculus (tartar), and stains.

      • Administer local anesthesia as certified and in accordance with New Jersey state regulations and practice protocol.

      • Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive agents.

      • Perform non-surgical periodontal maintenance procedures.

    • Radiology:

      • Expose, process, and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital radiography systems for diagnostic purposes.

    • Patient Education:

      • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including effective brushing, flossing, and interdental cleaning methods.

      • Provide tailored instruction on the relationship between oral health and systemic health.

      • Counsel patients on the impact of diet, nutrition, and lifestyle choices on oral health.

      • Discuss smoking cessation and other relevant preventive measures.

    • Infection Control and Safety:

      • Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment in compliance with OSHA standards, CDC guidelines, and infection control protocols.

      • Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection of instruments and equipment.

    • Collaboration and Communication:

      • Collaborate effectively with dentists, specialists, and other members of the dental team to coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care.

      • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, addressing their concerns and answering their questions.

      • Document patient care, treatment plans, and recommendations accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR).

    • Professional Development:

      • Participate in continuing education courses and professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay abreast of the latest advancements in dental hygiene.

    • Competitive Hourly Rate: $55 per hour and above, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
