Position Overview

MD Hyperbaric, a leading provider of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), is seeking a dedicated Hyperbaric Technician to join our Houston team. This role is designed for a skilled healthcare professional who not only provides safe and effective HBOT treatments but also helps oversee the daily administrative and operational responsibilities that keep the center running smoothly.

The ideal candidate combines strong clinical knowledge with organizational and leadership skills, ensuring both an excellent patient experience and efficient center operations.

Schedule & Availability

This role is intended for coverage during afternoon and evening hours and requires consistent availability on Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Safety

  • Conduct patient intake, verifying appointments and completing consents.
  • Review safety protocols and educational materials with patients.
  • Operate and monitor hyperbaric chambers, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any patient needs or emergencies.
  • Provide post-treatment instructions and rebook patients for future sessions.

Administrative & Operational Duties

  • Support scheduling and patient flow to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times.
  • Process payments and present pricing materials, communicating the value of continued HBOT care to support patient retention and sales.
  • Monitor and manage oxygen supplies; safely replace cylinders as needed.
  • Oversee chamber turnover between sessions, ensuring chambers are cleaned and prepped promptly.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate with Lead Hyperbaric Technician and vendors as needed.
  • Support financial and administrative tracking for the center.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.

Care Coordination & Clinical Communication

  • Function as a liaison among the surgical team, patients, and the medical director to support safe, effective, and coordinated care.
  • Ensure patient questions, updates, and concerns are communicated appropriately to the medical director.
  • Support clinical alignment by communicating treatment needs and operational considerations to the Lead Hyperbaric Technician and medical director.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current certification/licensure as an EMT, MA, RN, LPN, Paramedic, or other relevant clinical credential.
  • CPR/BLS certification required (or must be obtained before start date).
  • Certification as a Hyperbaric Technician preferred (training available for the right candidate).
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient care required.

Strong understanding of hyperbaric therapy principles and safety protocols (or willingness to learn).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
  • Highly organized and able to balance both clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of center operations.
