Design & Engineering: Develop detailed design packages, including P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and conduit/cable schedules.
• PLC/HMI Programming: Design, configure, and modify PLC (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications to control batch or continuous processes.
• Instrument Specification: Select and size instruments and control valves, including transmitters, sensors, and actuators.
• Industrial Electrical Systems: Work with motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), switchgear, transformers, and electrical power distribution up to high voltage.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform field troubleshooting of electrical controls, instrumentation, and networking issues.
• Project Management & Compliance: Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and IEEE standards, manage project budgets, and coordinate with contractors.
• Startup & Commissioning: Participate in field testing, loop checking, and commissioning of new equipment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in specific I&C disciplines as applicable to power plants.

• Key words for applicable instrumentation skill set: Pressure transmitter, switches, gages, Control Valve, Thermocouple, RTD, vibration, speed, positioner, LVDT, Level, position, calorie meter, CEMS, emissions.
• Key words for applicable plant control system skill set: Balance of Plant (BOP), I/O count, I/O list, signal interface, remote I/O, wiring, Combine cycle plant operation, High performance graphics

• Electrical Design & Analysis: Develop and review electrical design packages for low and medium-voltage infrastructure, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and MCC (Motor Control Center) layouts.
• Automation Programming: Configure and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to automate machinery and monitor real-time production.
• Instrumentation Selection: Size and specify field instruments—such as pressure, flow, and temperature sensors—and ensure they meet specific process requirements.
• Safety Compliance: Oversee electrical safety compliance (e.g., NFPA 70E, NEC) and conduct hazard assessments like HAZOP to mitigate operational risks.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose complex malfunctions in both hardware (motors, wiring) and software (control logic) to minimize plant downtime.
