Responsibilities

Kforce is seeking a skilled PLC Technician/Engineer to join their team in Corvallis, OR for a project involving the readdressing of devices at a large enterprise facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating network diagrams, developing method ofprocedure (MOP) task lists, performing IP address changes on devices, and confirming functionality. This role requires experience in Proficy Machine Edition 10.0, Cimplicity Workbench, and PAC Systems Rx3i Controllers.Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Diagram Updates: Update network wiring diagrams with new IP addresses
  • PLC Code Review: Review PLC code to confirm controls, check for forced bits, and set initial values as required
  • Hardware Management: Determine and manage spare hardware required for the project
  • Method of Procedure (MOP) Development: Develop and document detailed MOPs in coordination with HP System Engineers and HP/JLL operators
  • Ensure MOPs include step-by-step task lists for shutting down and restarting PLCs without system impact
  • Execution of MOP: Perform tasks such as putting equipment in HAND/LOCAL modes, changing IP addresses, updating firmware, and ensuring functionality post-restart
  • Backup PLC programs to a shared drive
  • IT Coordination: Coordinate with IT to open ports for new communication
  • SCADA System Updates: Update Cimplicity device IP addresses and restart projects
  • Confirm communication and functionality, including updating sequence numbers, alarm setpoints, and process setpoints
Special Considerations:
  • Evaluate each PLC to determine if re-IP needs to be scheduled during off-hours to prevent system disruption
  • Address any environmental, permitting, construction sequencing, shutdowns, and field verification requirements
Skills
  • Strong understanding of network wiring diagrams and IP addressing
  • Experience with PLC programming
  • Project Management: Ability to develop and document detailed MOPs; Strong coordination skills to work with system engineers and operators
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC systems
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to document and report on project progress and issues
Technical Skills:
  • Proficy Machine Edition 10.0 (Emerson)
  • Cimplicity Workbench (GE Digital)
  • PAC Systems Rx3i Controllers (Emerson)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in industrial automation and control systems
  • Previous experience with large-scale readdressing projects


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
