The role of I&E Technicianis responsible for the safe installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical components. This role involves working with complex equipment, control systems, and advanced monitoring devices, as well as performing preventive maintenance and general upkeep of electronic and pneumatic equipment.
Responsibilities:
Participate in installing all instrumentation and electrical components safely.
Troubleshoot problems with control systems and complex equipment associated with gas receipts and turbines; generators, process plants, dehydration, control, and pump stations; and gas chromatography.
Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
Maintain advanced monitoring devices (gas, flame, or fire detectors, vibration, and temperature monitors).
Read P&ID and electrical diagrams and other complex electrical drawings; interpret and update plant electrical diagrams.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, variable frequency drives, air/fuel controllers, panel boards, etc.
Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment and parts associated with this equipment.
Qualifications:
3+ years of O&G Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) experience required.
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
Must be willing and able to workarea between Laredo, TX/George West, TX.
Must live within area between Laredo, TX. and George West, TX.
Solid understanding of electrical distribution, powerline maintenance, and safe work practices
Demonstrated ability to work independently and safely in field-based environments.
Education, or direct experience, with production equipment including tanks, valves, positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and safety and production systems.
Valid US Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
