Description
Responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the City of Hobbs' radio communications systems and related equipment. Performs preventative maintenance, radio testing, vehicle and facility installations, and maintains equipment records and inventories. Assists with P25 systems, microwave equipment, the City's FM radio station, FCC inspections, audio/visual systems, and after-hours emergency service calls.

The employee is frequently required to climb ladders, work from man lifts, and work at heights eight feet or greater.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Have you graduated from an accredited two (2) year college with a degree in Electronics Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a closely related field focused on electronics or electrical technology?

Have you completed a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) related to radio communications, electronics, telecommunications, signal operations, or a closely related field?

Do you have two (2) years of progressively responsible experience installing, programming, maintaining, or repairing land mobile radio (LMR), public safety communications, telecommunications, or other electronic communications systems?
