This Is Not Your Average Tech Job

Are you a hands-on IT professional looking for something beyond a desk job? Cargo Largo is seeking a skilled, driven IT technician. You'll keep our dynamic, local operation running, from the large warehouse/processing center to the retail store. This isn't a sit-and-wait helpdesk role - you'll be moving across the warehouse floor, troubleshooting equipment, running cable, and keeping production moving. If youre the kind of person who values activity and variety, this opportunity may be for you.

Make a Difference. You'll be a key member of a tight-knit 4-person I.T. department. You'll be the primary resource to ensure continuity of computer services for approximately 500+ users.

Be with the People. This role goes beyond the typical help desk where you're relegated to phone/e-mail support. You'll have the opportunity to partner with the user community. Learn their goals, learn their challenges, make a positive change! Meaningful relationships will be built with internal customers who truly appreciate your help.

Grow Your Skills. We welcome applicable experience, and we're willing to share knowledge. Looking for a sharp tech willing to learn new skills, and details of the business. We will help you grow. For example, if your background is primarily desktop, we'll help you expand networking skills, and legacy application support.

Supportive Management. You'll be empowered. Yet, when the need arises, you'll have excellent management support from your boss (IT Director) as he is truly an expert in our systems and willing to share that knowledge with you.

Pay Range: $20/hr. - $26/hr., based on experience

Shift Expectations: 6:30 AM - 3:30pm PM (Monday-Friday), rotating Saturday coverage (about once a month)

What you'll be doing

• Go-to person for fixing problems with positive attitude and professionalism
• Wide range of technical tasks including but not limited to:
• OS installations, hardware diagnostics, and software setup
• Structured cabling (including drilling, running, and dressing cables)
• Resolve technical hardware/software issues with "zero" call backs
• Set up and deploy computers, monitors, printers, and warehouse floor equipment
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access through Active Directory
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep systems healthy and reliable

What we want from you

• 1-2 years of successful work experience as a hands-on IT support/technician
• Network+ and/or A+ Certification preferred or equivalent knowledge/experience
• Able to work on your feet a fair amount in a largely temperature-controlled warehouse
• Comfortable with heights (ladder, scissor lift)
• Passion for customer care and quick, hands-on problem solving
• Sound technical knowledge of Windows and MS office platforms, and PC hardware
• Experience in using Active Directory; general network principles
• Associate's degree in computer information systems or related field preferred
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
