I9 Auditor

We are specifically seeking an experienced I-9 Auditor who has hands-on experience auditing Form I-9s and completing I-9 remediation/corrections.

Position Overview
The I-9 Auditor will be responsible for conducting detailed reviews of employee Form I-9 documentation to ensure compliance with federal employment eligibility requirements. This role requires someone who can independently identify errors, discrepancies, and missing information and take appropriate steps to complete remediation.

The ideal candidate has direct, practical experience with I-9 audits and remediation projects and can work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive internal audits of employee Form I-9s for accuracy,
• completeness, and compliance.
• Review Section 1, Section 2, and applicable Section 3 information and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing information, discrepancies, technical errors, and other potential compliance issues.
• Perform I-9 remediation and corrections in accordance with applicable requirements and established company procedures.
• Research and resolve discrepancies identified during the audit process.
• Work with HR personnel and other appropriate stakeholders to obtain missing or corrected information.
• Support employment eligibility verification and E-Verify processes as applicable.
• Maintain accurate audit records and documentation.
• Handle sensitive employee information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
• Escalate complex or potentially significant compliance issues appropriately.
• Meet project deadlines and maintain a strong sense of urgency throughout the 3-month engagement.
• Follow established procedures and applicable federal requirements throughout the audit and remediation process.

Required Qualifications

• I-9 AUDITING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in HR compliance or a related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience auditing Form I-9s.
• Demonstrated experience completing I-9 remediation/corrections.
• Strong working knowledge of Form I-9 requirements and employment eligibility verification.
• Knowledge of E-Verify and related employment eligibility processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume audit project while meeting deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a project-based environment.
• High level of urgency and accountability.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
