POSITION SUMMARY:
The Child and Adolescent Transgender Center for Health (CATCH) has provided gender affirming care to over 500 young people and their families since it began in 2013. Under the direction of Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Services within the Department of Psychiatry, the IBH Clinician for CATCH will be responsible for the direct provision of behavioral health services to the gender diverse children, adolescents, and families at Boston Medical Center's CATCH program. Clinical responsibilities for services include but are not limited to conducting multidisciplinary CATCH intake assessments and follow up visits, delivering short and long-term individual and family therapy, crisis interventions, formulating psychosocial diagnosis and treatment plans and implementing trauma informed, evidence-based treatment for patients and family members. Independently licensed clinicians will supervise interns/trainees. Clinician will collaborate with families, caregivers, schools, DCF and other stakeholders as clinically indicated. The clinician will work collaboratively with CATCH medical providers and provide behavioral health education as appropriate. The job is currently hybrid which may change based on hospital expectations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES/KNOWLEDGE:
- Preference will be given to applicants who have prior experience with integrated behavioral health, interdisciplinary teamwork, gender diverse youth, family work, and clinical supervision
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve gender diverse youth and families
- Prior clinical experience working with gender diverse youth and adolescents.
- Knowledge of Social Work process and community resources and agencies in relation to health, illness, and disability, generally acquired through one to two years on-the-job training.
- Preference for independently licensed clinicians
- Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals and to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Comfort in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team
- Cultural sensitivity and humility
- Bicultural/Bilingual competency a plus

Other responsibilities will include:
- Attendance at regularly scheduled CATCH administrative meetings
- Attendance at relevant IBH and Psychiatry meetings and in-service education program offerings through the Department of Psychiatry
- Obtaining continuing education units necessary to maintain licensure.
- Utilizing the hospital's behavioral standards as the basis for decision-making and to facilitate the hospital's mission.
- Following established hospital infection control and safety procedures.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality according to hospital policy
- Practicing professional discretion when determining the inclusion of any patient information into medical record or other documentation
- Complying with departmental, regulatory, and professional requirements for documentation recording, and data collection

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Requires Master's Degree from an accredited school of Social Work or school of Mental Health Counseling or related field as determined by the Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions or National Certified Counselor (NCC) preparing for licensure as an LMHC
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Requires a Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or license as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). For LCSW, can be obtained within 6 months of employment. For Pre-LMHC, can be National Certified Counselor (NCC) preparing for licensure as an LMHC
