Provide a short description of the Position: This position will be responsible for a technical architect’s lead role on the Integrated Account System (IAS) Modernization project. The candidate will also assist with developing a new framework for all efforts under the DTF Modernization program. A new assessment processing system is being developed as part of the IAS modernization project. This will replace the legacy CARTS billing system which is a COBOL/IDMS/DB2 system and associates intake applications with a system built on strategic platforms. It will increase processing efficiency and free up resources both at DTF and ITS as the maintenance of the legacy system grows more challenging every year.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate:
The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for complex projects. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include: • Guiding the technical design for modernization of legacy systems. • Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups. • Making changes in multiple systems in real time to enable changes requested by user group. • Implementing technical solutions. • Developing tax processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems. • Supporting production tasks including analysis of issue, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution. • Coordinating with development team on development activities and integration testing. • Developing technical design documents and program specifications.
• Guiding requirements gathering sessions. • Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work. • Coding and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments. • Writing and tuning SQL • Supporting user testing efforts. • Performance tune new and existing applications. • Mentoring less experienced staff.
