The IBM i (AS400) Systems Consultant will asssist with system maintenance, upgrades, and migrations. This role focuses on critical infrastructure support, including applying system fixes, performing OS upgrades, and aiding in future migrations. Scope:
Focused on system maintenance and migration support
Support Backup Administration team as a second level escalation.
Operating systems administration and support.
Assist information security team during investigations as a second level escalation.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply cumulative and group fixes to the IBM i (OS400) operating system upon Evertec's request for both Production and Development partitions.
Perform OS400 upgrades and updates as necessary (currently at V7R5), ensuring system stability and performance.
Assist with migrations from the current IBM i model to future models replacing the existing infrastructure.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations for optimizing the IBM i environment.
Ensure compliance with best practices for system maintenance and upgrades.
Collaborate with Evertec's IT team to support project timelines and deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills:
Extensive experience working with IBM i (AS400) systems, including OS400 upgrades and patching.
Strong knowledge of IBM i system architecture, partitions, and operational procedures.
Experience in system migrations to new IBM i models.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues efficiently.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with IT teams.

Working hours: Sunday thru Thursday 10pm 6am (AST)
