Inventory Control (IC) Auditor
Position Summary
The Inventory Control (IC) Auditor is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and integrity throughout the warehouse by conducting inventory audits, cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, and inventory validation activities. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational efficiency by ensuring physical inventory aligns accurately with warehouse management system (WMS) records.
The IC Auditor partners closely with Warehouse Operations, Receiving, Quality Assurance, and Leadership teams to identify inventory variances, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions that support inventory accuracy, food safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and location validations within assigned warehouse areas.
- Perform inventory reconciliations to ensure physical product quantities match system records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and location variances.
- Validate product locations, quantities, lot codes, expiration dates, and inventory movements within the warehouse management system.
- Complete system-generated inventory tasks and perform follow-up research as required.
- Utilize RF scanners, handheld devices, and warehouse management systems to document findings and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor and support BIRR activities and other inventory review processes requiring product investigation.
- Process and support inventory adjustments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Respond to inventory-related requests from Operations, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, and other business partners.
- Escalate unresolved inventory issues and communicate findings effectively to leadership.
- Maintain organized audit documentation, reports, and inventory records.
- Support warehouse organization and inventory integrity initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement that enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to resolve inventory concerns.
- Adhere to all food safety, quality assurance, GMP, HACCP, and workplace safety requirements.
- Perform additional inventory control and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred
- Previous experience in Inventory Control, Warehouse Operations, Auditing, Logistics, Distribution, or Supply Chain environments.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, and handheld inventory devices.
- Experience working in food distribution, manufacturing, or cold storage environments.
- Familiarity with inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and inventory auditing processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout warehouse facilities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products within company-established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and varying warehouse temperature environments.
- Ability to safely operate inventory equipment, RF scanners, and warehouse tools as trained.
- Ability to work around powered industrial equipment and warehouse traffic safely.

Work Environment
This position operates within a warehouse and distribution environment that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, and fast-paced operational conditions. Team members may be exposed to moving machinery, powered industrial equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on operational needs.
