Position Overview

Spectate Group, part of the Nicholas Family of Companies, is seeking a dependable Ice and Facilities Technician to support the daily operation and maintenance of our ice arena. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining exceptional ice quality through resurfacing, monitoring ice conditions, and performing minor rink repairs, while also supporting the upkeep of the facility through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, general repairs, custodial duties, and the maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and refrigeration equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for athletes, guests, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

- \n
- Performs preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility and surrounding ground.
- \n
- Conducts regularice maintenance, includingdepth measurement, edging,dry cutting, and building ice
- \n
- Maintains accuratelogs for the ice surfaceand mechanical systemsincluding Zamboni’s, refrigeration systems, and roof top units
- \n
- Assists with general labor tasks such as ice installation/removal and glass/board maintenance
- \n
- Performs routinemaintenance and diagnostics on Zamboni and other ice resurfacing equipment
- \n
- Monitors the condition of refrigeration skids,HVAC systems, and other criticalinfrastructure. Reports issues to the Facilities manager, when necessary.

- Executes maintenancetasks safely and professionally, following allestablished protocols
- \n
- Inspects facilityareas for damageand complete or report repairsas needed
- \n
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)for work order completion
- \n
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
- \n
- Adheres to all safetyand security procedures
- \n
- Participates in after-hours on-callcoverage in coordination with the Managerof Facilities, Facilities Manager, and Rink Attendant, Team Lead

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager

Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Knowledge of ice arena operations, including ice resurfacing and facility equipment maintenance
- \n
- Ability to operate ice resurfacers (Zamboni), forklifts, scissor lifts, and other facility equipment.
- \n
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.
- \n
- Proficiency in the safe operation of handheld and stationary power tools.
- \n
- Ability to perform maintenance, repair, and custodial duties.
- \n
- Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC, and dehumidification systems.
- \n
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and facility issues.
- \n
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- \n
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all applicable safety regulations.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
