Hours: Rotating schedule from 5:55pm-6:00am

The Ice Cream Production Team Leader makes an impact by -

  • Assist Resource Leader with directing and coordinating the activities of frozen production personnel assigned to the area.
  • Meet the performance standards and perform the job duties and responsibilities for the following positions: General Utility (Machine Operator), Material Handler, Freezer Operator, Flavor Mixer, and Palletizer.
  • Ensure all necessary mix flavorings meet company standards and are utilized correctly on production lines.
  • Ensure quality checks are performed and recorded including associate quality check to meet specifications.
  • Communicate with Frozen Production Resource Leader and Senior Resource Leaders regarding daily manufacturing operations.
  • Communicate with other Frozen Production Team Leaders to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
  • Perform relief duties for all frozen production job-related tasks
  • Ensure shift accountability numbers are recorded accurately including downtime reporting.
  • Assist the Resource Leader with directing and coordinating duties and tasks of frozen production personnel assigned to the area.
  • Ensure proper mixes are prepared and machine setups are accurate before start-up and throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a high level of safety towards people, equipment, and building structures.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe for use and where necessary complete and forward work order requests to the Ice Cream Production Resource Leader.
  • Keep an orderly and clean work environment.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodology.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage and coach associates to effectively work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead or facilitate department and cross-functional teams through implementation of continuous improvement projects.
  • Interact with plant warehouse inventories warehouse management system (Assistics/Shop Orders, etc.).
  • One (1) year of Ice Cream manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Demands -

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).
  • The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 12+ hours.
  • The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
  • Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
  • The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
