Role Overview
You keep Reddy Ice’s merchandisers running at their best so customers always have perfectly chilled ice on demand. Your day blends hands-on refrigeration work with a continuous improvement mindset—using lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3) to spot waste, streamline tasks, and elevate service quality. You model our True North attributes every day: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, direct and fact-based communication, servant leadership, and relentless improvement.
A Day in the Life
You start with a route on your handheld, head to a retail store to diagnose a merchandiser that isn’t cooling, and quickly restore performance. Midday, you install a replacement unit at another customer site, then swing by a refurbishment center to help prep equipment. You check your service vehicle, reconcile spare parts, and flag restock needs. Before day’s end, you join a short Kaizen huddle to capture SOP improvement ideas, then connect with peers via video call to share maintenance best practices—all while delivering courteous, safety-first service on the road and on site.
