    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Events & Group Sales Supervisor drives revenue growth by planning, promoting, and executing themed public programs/events (such as Hungry Hungry Hippos and Paint it Forward), birthday parties, and group/private ice rentals. This role owns the program calendar from concept through execution, manages vendor and supply needs, and works to grow bookings through promotion and customer follow-up. The ideal candidate is creative, sales-oriented, and comfortable pitching new program/event ideas.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan and execute the seasonal calendar of themed public events and promotions
    • Coordinate all event logistics: vendor orders, supplies, staffing needs, setup/breakdown
    • Manage birthday party and private/group ice rental bookings from inquiry through event day
    • Promote upcoming events through signage, social media coordination, and community outreach
    • Develop new event concepts to grow attendance and close revenue gaps against seasonal targets
    • Track event attendance, revenue per event, and customer feedback; report results to the Aquatics Manager
    • Serve as on-site lead during events, directing staff and troubleshooting in real time
    • Build relationships with local schools, camps, scout troops, and community groups for group bookings
    • Maintain event budgets and vendor invoicing in coordination with the Aquatics Manager
    • Serve as the on-site lead during general skating hours, supporting skate staff and guests

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

    • Cashiers (Ice Staff)
    • Ice Trail Guards

    KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY

    • Experience in event planning, group sales, recreation programming, or hospitality preferred
    • Strong creative and organizational skills; able to manage several events in progress at once
    • Comfortable with basic promotion/marketing tasks and social media coordination
    • Confident public-facing communicator with guests, vendors, and community partners
    • Availability to work weekends and evenings, when most events and parties occur
    • Ability to skate on the ice is preferred
    • Ability to stand, walk, and supervise activity on and off the ice for full shift duration
    • Ability to work in a cold outdoor rink environment
    • Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment (up to 50 lbs.)

    EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION

    • Must be 18 years of age
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

    EQUIPMENT:

    Ice Skates, skate sharpener, skate aids, iPad, two-way radio, cones, First Aid kits, credit card machine, cold weather gear

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or workstation or out in the weather.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This position operates both outdoors and indoors. The majority of duties are performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to cold temperatures, wind, precipitation, and seasonal weather fluctuations. This position also requires periods of indoor administrative duties which may require prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment. The employee must be able to move frequently between indoor and outdoor environments.
