Summary:

Idaho Correctional Industries is currently recruiting for a Job Training Specialist, Senior to work at the Idaho State Correctional Institution in Boise, Idaho.

Job Training:

• Develops advances training programs as needed to upgrade skill sets
• Develops training modules to ensure maximum production of shop trainers and resident trainees and to successfully achieve workflow requirements and meet client order deadlines
• Analyze training performance and results and create documentation to comply with organizational guidelines and policies.

Supervision:

• Participate in the selection process and make recommendations for hiring, and trains and
• supervise Job Training Specialist within multiple shop(s)
• Develop performance plans and evaluate performance
• Assign and monitor's work
• Resolve personnel issues and handle disciplinary actions
• Ensure Job Training Specialist maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Select, enroll, supervise, and evaluate inmate's performance
• Provide feedback on job deficiencies and reassigns or removes resident trainees based on performance results
• Review and enforce safety rules and regulations
• Review and analyze estimate vs. actual report and provide explanations on variations
• Ensure accurate "real time" information is maintained within ERP system
• Monitor and follow APS schedule
• Establish and monitor work center(s) assignments for required jobs and production order workflow
• Establish and manage shop(s) budget
• Run daily/weekly reports on resident trainee performance and project status

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or Vocational Training Certification or combination of education and experience equivalent to journeyman level skills in a specific specialty area
• Experience with industry standard machines and equipment
• Supervisory experience in a transportation hub environment that includes experience training others to develop and enhance job skills
• Extensive computer knowledge including MS word, excel, outlook
• Significant experience using tools and equipment specific to assigned shops
• Willingness to work within a correctional facility

Supplemental Information:

• Possess any specialty one or more of the following; Drafting, Furniture, Metal, Graphics, Print, Tag, Sign or upholstery
• Experience with ERP and/or MPR and Globalshop Systems
• Good knowledge of project management practices

Hiring Information:

To be hired, candidates will have a history and background supportive of department mission goals and will be subject to:

• Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing
• Having a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
• Having a history of law-abiding behavior
• Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment
