Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures. Serves as a resource person for staff and models a commitment to the organizations vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high-quality patient-centered care. • Reflects core values when interacting with co-workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled. • Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. • Represents the organization positively within the community, participates in company-supported community/patient events, and in-services. • Assists with staff scheduling. • Manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment. • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. • Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System. • Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals. • Must learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules, must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times, must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors, must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools, or materials encompassed by job duties, and must check with supervisors prior to job performance if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job function. • Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues, and the community. • Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations, or the Code of Conduct itself. • Completes other duties as assigned.
About the Unit
• 8-bed Intensive Care Unit • Patient to Nurse ratio: 21 • Provides care for a variety of patients, including cardiac, DKA, Respiratory failure, STEMI, Renal, etc. • The physicians are highly engaged and provide 24/7 coverage. • 11 mentorship with supportive, experienced staff. • Many opportunities and educational resources, including national certification support and tuition reimbursement. • Highly supportive staff that provides numerous education, training for new nurses and residents. • Conducts multidisciplinary rounds with the interdisciplinary team in identifying safe and efficient critical management for high acuity, acute care. • Nurses take pride in the TEAM environment and focus on the WHY of critical care.
Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required • BSN preferred • Minimum of 1 year working as a Registered Nurse (RN) required • 3 years of RN experience in an ICU setting preferred • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse required • If Compact RN license, must have TX RN license within 90 days of hire
