The Technical Assistance Manager II (TAM II) serves as the primary coordinator for all logistics, event planning, and peer participant engagement activities within the Title IV-B ICWA Technical Assistance Collaborative. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings, trainings, convenings, and technical assistance events that support Tribal, State, and Court child welfare partners.
Serving as the sole logistics coordinator for the Collaborative, the position ensures seamless planning and implementation of all project events, manages communications and participant support, coordinates event resources, and oversees meeting technology and logistics systems. In addition, this role serves as the lead facilitator for on-site events. Additionally, in partnership with the National Tribal Child Welfare Center for Innovation and Advancement (NTCWCIA) and the Center for Legal and Judicial Innovation and Advancement (CLJIA) hosts the Title IV-B ICWA Tribal, State, and Court Peer Networking Group, fostering meaningful peer learning, collaboration, and information exchange.
The position works closely with federal partners, Tribal representatives, State agencies, judicial partners, subject matter experts, consultants, and project leadership to ensure Collaborative events and peer networking activities are culturally responsive, participant-centered, and aligned with the goals and requirements of Title IV-B Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) implementation efforts. The position also supports the Collaborative through the development and distribution of meeting agendas, meeting summaries, and project communications.
In this role, the ICWA Partnership and Implementation Logistics Coordinator and Event Facilitator will be expected to:
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Tribal, State/County, and court partners participating in the ICWA initiative.
Demonstrate exceptional planning, organization, and execution of complex events and meetings while maintaining attention to detail and participant experience.
Create engaging learning environments and successfully facilitate productive discussions among Tribal, State, Court, Federal, and community partners.
Assist jurisdictions in translating ICWA requirements into day-to-day practice through policy review, workflow development, implementation planning, and problem-solving.
Collaborate with Children’s Bureau (CB) partners and CB funded technical assistance providers to support coordinated cross-center technical assistance.
Approach all work with cultural humility, respect for Tribal sovereignty, and an understanding of the unique needs of Tribal communities and partners.
Respond effectively to changing priorities, resolve logistical challenges, and identify practical solutions under tight timelines.
Provide content input on reports, presentations, implementation plans, and technical assistance products.
Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively across multiple formats and audiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Event Planning and Logistics Coordination:
Serve as the sole logistics coordinator for all Title IV-B ICWA Technical Assistance Collaborative meetings, trainings, peer networking activities, and special events.
Plan, coordinate, and manage all event logistics for virtual, hybrid, and in-person activities.
Coordinate venue selection, registration systems, travel arrangements, meeting materials, audiovisual requirements, and event communications.
Develop and maintain event timelines, planning documents, and project tracking systems to ensure successful implementation.
Draft, coordinate, and distribute meeting agendas, participant materials, and event communications in collaboration with project leadership and partners.
Prepare and distribute meeting summaries, action-item tracking documents, and follow-up communications for Collaborative meetings and events.
Manage participant registration, attendance tracking, communications, and follow-up activities.
Coordinate with vendors, consultants, partners, and project staff to ensure seamless event execution.
Troubleshoot logistical and technology issues before and during events.
Maintain event documentation and reporting systems in accordance with project and contractual requirements.
Event Facilitation and Peer Network Leadership:
Facilitate in-person, virtual, and hybrid Collaborative meetings, learning sessions, and convenings.
Serve, in partnership with NTCWCIA, and CLJIA as host for the Title IV-B ICWA Tribal, State, and Court Peer Networking Group.
Develop agendas and facilitate discussions that support peer learning and information sharing related to Title IV-B ICWA planning, implementation, and program requirements.
Create welcoming, culturally responsive environments that encourage participation, relationship building, and cross-system collaboration.
Coordinate presentations, panels, and facilitated discussions with subject matter experts and project leadership.
Support the exchange of promising practices, lessons learned, and implementation strategies among Tribal, State, and Court partners.
Manage ongoing membership communications and engagement activities for the Peer Networking Group.
Facilitate feedback collection, surveys, and assessments to support continuous improvement.
Communications and Community Engagement:
Serve as a primary point of contact for event participants, peer network members, consultants, and project partners.
Develop and distribute event announcements, newsletters, resource materials, and participant communications.
Coordinate information sharing among Tribal, State, and Court partners and facilitate connections across jurisdictions.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with federal partners, Tribal representatives, courts, state agencies, consultants, and community partners.
Project Support and Continuous Improvement:
Collect, organize, and maintain event and participant data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
Support project reporting, meeting summaries, and data collection activities.
Identify opportunities to improve event management processes, participant experience, and peer networking engagement.
Support the preparation and organization of facilitation materials, meeting resources, participants packets, and project communications.
Maintain adherence to project policies, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
Minimum Job Qualifications:

Location:
This position is remote eligible. Candidates who live within 50 miles of our North Bethesda, MD or San Mateo, CA offices will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity.

Must have the ability to travel independently and support event setup and coordination activities.

This position is subject to availability of funds and to any and all restrictions contained in the contract or contracts that provide funding for this position.
Expected Hiring Rate: $76,250 annually.
The full salary range for this position is $76,250 to $98,250; however, the budgeted starting salary for this role is $76,250.
Compensation is determined by years of directly relevant experience, education, certifications, specialized skills, contract labor category requirements, and internal equity considerations. Final salary offers may vary within the posted range.
