The ID/OD Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of CNC ID/OD grinders in the ID/OD Grind Department. The ID/OD Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Geared Solutions ID/OD Grind department work instruction.
Duties/Responsibilities
Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
Read, interpret, and produce machined dimensions from information on engineering drawings
Adhere to job plans per job travelers
Set up and operate CNC and Manual OD and ID grind equipment with minimal supervision
Grinding of splined shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances within .0001"
Basic Maintenance of CNC Grinders
Use precision measurement equipment to ensure first piece and production quality
Maintain proper documentation of SPC data
Consistently produce quality parts
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
7 years of experience
Blueprint reading skills
Shop math skills
Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools
Positive attitude
Ability to communicate and work with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements
Good hand-eye coordination
Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to use hand tools
