The primary role of Special Edu/ IEP Aide is to provide support to students in Baltimore City.<\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/p>
This will be a M -F school based Full Time hours schedule for the 23 -24 School Year.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

<\/span><\/p>
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES<\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/div>- Requires special lifting or handling of physically disabled students for transportation, toileting and/or feeding assistance<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Follow behavior management plan provided<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Assist with classroom management such as organizing instructional and other materials<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Provide assistance with students in a computer laboratory<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Provide instructional services to students under the direct supervision of the teacher<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Requires duties to be performed on school premises, field trip sites, during transportation, or any other off -site activity in which the student participates<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Assignments may include more than one student within a classroom depending on the specific Individual Education Plan (IEP) services for each child<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Responsible for own transportation to the student’s school OR bus company/ student’s home /other pre -negotiated area if accompaniment is required during transportation. Attendance is required whenever the student is present in school.<\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
- Minimum high school diploma or GED<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Non -therapeutic aides must have completed 20 hrs of training provided by the agency to include: Behavior management strategies, Review of classroom procedures<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand Standard English and carryout directions and instructions by the student’s teacher and/or principal. Bi -lingual aides may be requested.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Must demonstrate emotional and mental maturity as well as display an interest and a sympathetic attitude toward working with children.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Must be able to provide satisfactory work references and two satisfactory personal references. A satisfactory job related experience can be substituted for work references.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - at least one (1) year in the pediatric care setting, school health, general pediatric, home health, community health, public health<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Current CPR/First Aid<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - pre -employment criminal background<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - physical exam (within one year)<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/span>
