IGM Genetic Laboratory Accessioner

 

 

 

Prepares and documents patient records used for specimen processing, reporting, and billing within The Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM).

 

 

Essential Functions:

• Receives and accessions samples and orders accurately in laboratory databases, LIS, LIMS, and other related software.
• Delivers specimens to the designated testing area and records functions in the laboratory information systems.
• Maintains accurate documentation – obtaining, compiling, and issuing records, reports, and data. Ensures correct distribution for patient care and billing purposes.
• Communicates with providers regarding incomplete paperwork and other missing information.
• Provides efficient and effective customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and quality patient care.
• Maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning laboratory reporting and billing requirements, including yearly updates.

Education Requirement:

• High School Diploma, required.
• Associate’s Degree in a science or healthcare management, preferred.

Experience:

One year of clinical laboratory, medical, and office experience, preferred.
