About the Role: Journey to Thrive ILS is looking for a passionate and dedicated ILS Instructor to join our team in El Cerrito, CA. Responsibilities:
Provide individualized Independent Living Skills (ILS) instruction to clients in home and community settings
Develop and implement personalized service plans to support client goals and promote self-sufficiency
Teach daily living skills including budgeting, meal preparation, personal hygiene, and community navigation
Document client progress, maintain accurate case notes, and submit timely reports
Collaborate with regional centers, support teams, and families to ensure coordinated care
Transport and accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as needed
Advocate for client rights and promote inclusion within the community
Requirements:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or related populations
Knowledge of Independent Living Skills (ILS) instruction and person-centered planning
Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in social services or related field preferred
