Grand Cypress Imaging is a diagnostic imaging center in Cypress dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered care. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Paramedic to join our clinical team. In this specialized role, you will work collaboratively with radiologists and imaging technologists to ensure the safety and comfort of patients undergoing contrast-enhanced procedures (such as CT and MRI).
Position Overview
The primary focus of this position is patient monitoring and contrast coverage. You will be responsible for assessing patient medical history and kidney function (BUN/Creatinine), establishing and maintaining IV access, monitoring patients during and after contrast administration, and standing ready to respond to any adverse reactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Review patient history, medication lists, and allergy profiles prior to contrast administration.
- IV Access: Start and maintain peripheral IV lines specifically for contrast media injection.
- Patient Monitoring: Closely monitor patients before, during, and immediately following the imaging procedure for any signs of adverse reactions.
- Emergency Response: Act as the first responder for medical emergencies, including contrast reactions, and administer emergency medications per physician orders and standing protocols.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervising radiologists and technologists to facilitate smooth procedure flow.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and incident reports in the EMR.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Paramedic training program.
- Licensure: Current, valid Paramedic license/certification in the state of Texas.
- Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required. PALS certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in an emergency room, critical care, or high-volume pre-hospital EMS environment. Strong peripheral IV skills are mandatory.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional critical thinking skills, a calm and reassuring demeanor under pressure, and the ability to multitask effectively.
