Job Summary


The Imaging Lead supports the daily operations of the Imaging department by coordinating workflow, assisting with staff oversight, and ensuring high-quality, efficient imaging services. Working in collaboration with the Imaging Director and department leadership, this role helps manage staffing, supports protocol adherence, monitors quality and regulatory compliance, and serves as a technical and operational resource to imaging staff.


Essential Functions


+ Coordinates daily imaging department operations, including workflow organization, staffing assignments, and coverage adjustments to ensure efficient patient care delivery.

+ Serves as a technical resource to imaging staff, providing guidance on protocols, equipment use, and troubleshooting issues in real time.

+ Monitors PACS functionality, user access, and image records to ensure accuracy and resolve system-related issues; coordinates updates and corrections as needed.

+ Supports staff onboarding and training, participates in performance evaluations, and provides feedback to leadership on staff development and conduct.

+ Assists with scheduling, approving timecards and PTO requests, and ensuring compliance with departmental time and attendance policies.

+ Collaborates with the Imaging Director to monitor productivity, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics, recommending improvements where appropriate.

+ Coordinates regulatory compliance efforts, including equipment inspections, state reviews, and physics testing, ensuring documentation is complete and current.

+ Addresses staff and patient concerns professionally and escalates complex issues to the Imaging Director as needed.

+ Participates in pilot projects or implementation of new imaging procedures and communicates changes effectively to the team.

+ Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring proper handling of equipment and adherence to infection control protocols.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Complies with all policies and standards.


Qualifications


+ 3-5 years of experience in diagnostic imaging or radiologic technology required

+ Leadership or lead-level experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


+ Knowledge of imaging procedures, workflows, and regulatory standards across multiple modalities.

+ Strong interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.

+ Proficiency in PACS, RIS, and electronic health record systems.

+ Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to changing workload and departmental needs.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.

+ Commitment to patient-centered care, staff support, and continuous improvement.


Licenses and Certifications


+ ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required

+ Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required

+ BCLS - Basic Life Support required
