Job Summary
Manage the care of patients in conjunction with the patient''s multi-disciplinary care team, according to agreed upon clinical guidelines, with the objective of coordinating high quality patient care across all care delivery services. Serves as a clinical imaging expert, for the ancillary and nursing staff and provides direction and support for standardization of care of the Inpatient imaging services. Centrally prioritizes and schedules service demand for in-house patients; ensures patients approaching discharge have high scheduling priority. Re-assesses prioritization of patients with changing conditions. Manages service department order queue; coordinates service requests among both inpatient and outpatient schedules.

Essential Functions

Prioritizes and schedules service demand for in-house patients; ensures patients approaching discharge have high scheduling priority. Re-assesses prioritization of patients with changing conditions. Manages service department order queue; coordinates service requests among both inpatient and outpatient schedules.
Communicates with RN-Clinical Care Coordinators and Nursing to ensure patient readiness and completion of required prep and any additional information needed to schedule and to balance the patient's itinerary.
Collaborates with RN-Clinical care coordinators to address barriers to patient progression and escalate issues as appropriate.
Communicates with Ancillary staff to address patient prep, resource availability, and staffing availability and adjust all ancillary services schedules as needed.
Constructs optimal schedule for patients with multiple service requests (complex patients).
Remains current on service departments' specific service management policies and preferences.
Creates transport requests to pull patients to service departments. Actively adjusts transport requests to ensure on-time service delivery.
Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - Associate degree - Completion of an accredited radiology program
Experience - Three (3) years as in-patient radiology technologist Experience serving as a lead tech or department coordinator preferred.

SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
