The purpose of the Warehouse Assistant and Delivery Driver is to assist the warehouse in storing, pulling, preparing deliveries, and delivering items to customer; They will spend time in the warehouse receiving inventory and prepare products to be delivered, while also driving the company box trucks for deliveries. This person will serve as the warehouse’s representative on all receiving and deliveries; ensuring all items are properly tagged and packaged to be stored or delivered. They are also responsible for daily problem-solving activities in relation to warehousing and deliveries.
Position Responsibilities
Must be prepared to drive or work in warehouse as workflow dictates
General warehouse work including picking orders, vehicle maintenance, shipping, receiving, cycle counting, and other duties as assigned
Assist the Warehouse Manager as directed
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition
Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the reporting manager
Follow all DOT rules and regulations
Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (box trucks) to transport products to customers
Send daily updates on receiving and deliveries to Warehouse Manager and Director of Operations
Ensure that all incoming products are properly stored and ensure that all outgoing items are pulled, inspected, and ready to be loaded
Alert Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager immediately to any damage or issues with the company vehicles
Willing and able to work Monday to Friday, and some weekends as and when required - 10 - 14 hour shifts
Requirements
Ability to lift heavy boxes (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing
1-2 years of relevant experience in a warehouse environment
1-2 years experience driving box trucks
Previous experience as a Truck Driver is preferred
Adhere to delivery schedules
Familiarity with GPS systems
Willingness to travel regularly and drive long distances
Maintain detailed driving log, including work periods, rest periods, and fuel expenses
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with our clients
Excellent time management skills to ensure deliveries are made on time
Attention to detail to accurately complete paperwork and maintain delivery records
Must have valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to employment
Must know and follow all DOT rules and laws
Understanding of all relevant truck driving laws and regulations
Clean driving record required
Must provide Drivers License and sign form permitting check of License
Proven track record of consistency, detail-orientation, and follow-through
High School Degree, or equivalent, required
