Position Overview: We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) immigration paralegal with experience handling cases before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping individuals in immigration matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents with EOIR and USCIS.
Draft motions, affidavits, declarations, and legal correspondence.
Maintain and organize client case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
Conduct legal research and compile supporting documentation for cases.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide case updates, and ensure timely submission of required documents.
Coordinate with attorneys to support case strategy and preparation for hearings, interviews, and filings.
Monitor case status and follow up with government agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.
Maryland State Bar.
Minimum 2 years of experience working as an immigration paralegal, with specific experience in EOIR and USCIS cases.
Strong knowledge of immigration forms, procedures, and deadlines.
Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and government agencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software (e.g., Clio, INSZoom, or similar platforms).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience handling asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, U Visa, and adjustment of status cases.
Familiarity with immigration court procedures and case preparation for master and individual hearings.
