Job Summary

Interested in the evolving field of impact finance? Want to engage with administrators to make a difference on campus and beyond? Hoping to gain skills that will impact your own career development? If this sounds like you, apply to be an Impact Investment Fellow and help advise Oberlin's endowment in balancing financial and social returns!

Responsibilities

  • Research & Advise: Conduct research that can guide impact investment decisions for the college endowment and present your findings to the Board's Investment Committee (two presentations a year)
  • Collaborate: Work with other members of the Impact Investment Advisory Group (IIAG) while advancing Oberlin's engagement and collaboration with peers across the Intentional Endowments Network
  • Lead Events: Organize our annual Impact Investment Symposium, leading outreach with other colleges and impact investment firms to share best practices
  • Share the Story: Communicate findings and impact investment strategy to students, faculty, and alumni

Qualifications

  • Real passion for environmental, social, or governance impact in the context of investment management.
  • 200-level coursework in finance, economics, environmental studies, or other areas relevant for researching impact investment.
  • Quantitative and data analysis skills, and proficiency with Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint.
  • Organized, dependable, open to feedback, and self motivated.
  • Comfortable reaching out to new contacts and working in teams.
  • Oberlin sophomore or above, enrolled for 2025-26 and in residence on campus during both semesters
  • Able to keep sensitive info confidential

Hours & Pay

  • Weekly 1-hour check-in with IIAG Coordinator, monthly check-in with IIAG leadership + 5-10 flexible hours a week of original research.
  • Occasional Board meetings
  • $13/hour
